Sherwood Fire District Evacuation Plan
- The decision to evacuate will be made by the Fire Chief/Assistant Chief or designated fire officer. The decision to evacuate will be based on fire weather and fire conditions.
- The decision to evacuate will be broadcast by Coconino County Emergency Management. Be sure to register your phone numbers and check the website for information. You may also want to register with AZ Ready, Set, Go!
- The evacuation process may be assisted by Coconino County Sheriff’s Office.
- The PRIMARY escape route is the main entrance out the south end of Friar Tuck. The alternate emergency exit is out the south end of Minstrel Road through Mountain Rose Ranch Estates. This gate is locked and will be unlocked by fire personnel. Exiting into a southwestern wind into a heavily wooded area may not be a good choice, so use this secondary exit with caution.
- Exit the area and proceed to a safe location. Please check in at a designated area if one has been established.
- The County Sheriff will be responsible for security for your homes.
- The Fire Chief, Sheriff’s Office and Emergency Management will notify homeowners when it is safe to return.
